Padmavati Jewellers

Padmavati Jewellers was founded in Kolhapur in 1971. Three generations of the same family have run the house, growing it from a single silversmith's bench into a manufacturing and wholesale business in silver across four purity standards: utensils, puja articles, fancy products, idols, Bangalore items and jewellery: with a sister wholesale showroom, Alliance Silver India.

Chapter I: Legacy

Three generations, one bench.

Businesses are built. Houses are inherited. What follows is the short version of a long apprenticeship: father to son, hand to hand, since 1971.

Ornate silver deity pair from the Padmavati workshop
  1. 1971

    The first bench

The house is founded in Kolhapur: one silversmith, one bench, and a promise: purity, always.

  2. 1980s

    The second generation

Sons join the bench. The workshop grows from repair and commission work into steady manufacture of silver articles.

  3. 1990s

    The workshop becomes a house

Casting, chasing and polishing come together under one roof. Dealers begin carrying Padmavati pieces beyond Kolhapur.

  4. 2024

    Alliance Silver LLP

The family launches its sister concern, Alliance Silver LLP: a wholesale silver showroom, Classic to Contemporary.

  5. Today

    The third generation

New hands, same discipline. The house manufactures and wholesales across India: and still checks every piece before it leaves.

Purity

Four standards, each stated openly: ★ OP, RH100, ASL81, ASL925.

Patience

Nakshi work cannot be hurried. Neither can trust.

Family

The name on the door is the name that answers for the work.

The Mark

Why the house wears a rosette

Sixteen rays for the light of a lamp. An eight-ring guilloché for the generations: the hands that taught and the hands that learned. A single point at the centre: one family. The seal is pressed into everything the house stands behind.
